NinjaTrader Troubleshooting Tips

  • Using 3rd Party Add-Ons
    Overview and instructions on managing 3rd party add-ons for NinjaTrader 8.  We encourage you to familiarize yourself with the way 3rd Party Add-Ons are used and managed on the platform.

    • Temporarily disabling Add-Ons
      Should you experience errors loading NinjaTrader, the first step to isolate the problem is to determine if you continue to experience issues without Add-Ons enabled referred to as 'Safe Mode'. To enable safe mode, please use the following steps:
      1. Exit NinjaTrader
      2. Hold the [Ctrl] key on your keyboard and double-click the NinjaTrader icon.
      3. Keep the [Ctrl] key held down until you see the NinjaTrader Control Center
      4. Once you see the Control Center, you can verify you are in safe mode by going to Help > About.
      Once in safe mode, you may use NinjaTrader without 3rd party add-ons, allowing you to verify if a problem no longer is present or allowing you to remove a 3rd party add-on.

    Using NinjaTrader as a key part of your trading/investing tools requires that you safeguard the configuration and database of your trading platform.  Using NinjaTrader's Backup and Restore utilities allows you to easily do just that.  We encourage users to set reminders to perform a backup on a regular schedule through Tools > Export > Backup File.

  • NinjaScript Output Window
